The intersection of engineering and research.
I build machine learning systems that have to work on Monday morning — and I publish the parts that are worth defending in a journal.
I'm a Machine Learning Engineer with 6+ years of production experience spanning classical ML, deep learning, and modern LLM systems. Most of my recent work is generative: multi-step agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, and parameter-efficient fine-tuning — all of it running on MLOps pipelines I also own.
My focus is the unglamorous middle of the problem, where ML features actually succeed or fail: data quality, evaluation design, latency, cost, observability, and the operating model around the model. A demo that works once is not the same artefact as a service that works every time.
On the research side I've authored 7 peer-reviewed papers with 560+ citations and an h-index of 4, including a top-0.1% cited Computer Science paper on healthcare AI. I continue as a part-time researcher at the University of Sharjah, currently running controlled LLM adaptation studies on multi-GPU clusters. Read more on the research page.
I work best where the problem is genuinely hard and needs both a research mindset and engineering discipline — and I'm comfortable embedding with product, owning technical decisions, and mentoring.

Curious how any of this applies to your problem?
Happy to talk through architecture, evaluation design, or what it actually takes to put an LLM system in front of users.
